Protest in front of Port Arthur TX City hall, residents are tired of the condition of their community and they want things to change, pollution at a all time high and the Mayor would not or could not address the issue.

Hilton Kelley the leader of the group went up to the Mayors office and persuaded him to come down and talk to the people when the questions started he could not answer them and turn away from the crowed and left, it is certain to the people now that they have no real leadership or representation for the west side community in Port Arthur TX.

One of the most polluted areas in the State of Texas , asthma in young children at an all time high and cancer is running rapid. The people want answers.

Port Arthur Citizens took to the street in protest of the county giving tax breaks to the billion Dollar company Premcor, 1.9 million dollars in tax breaks was given to the billion dollar company for the promise of jobs most of the job go to outside contractors said one protester our community have no services for the people we have no stores, no restaurants no community centers nothing, nothing but prisons to lock every body up.

If they cleaned up our environment may be more businesses would want to come to our area we need leadership, leaders with vision and leaders that care for the people they are put in office to serve. Hilton Kelley the founder and CEO of the CIDA Inc. says the Mayor of Port Arthur Only cares about one thing and that is our tax’s base not your welfare or health as for as he is concerned Industry can dump what ever they want into the air. It’s time for our local government to look at new options for economic growth and stop depending on big oil. People are dying from their chemicals.
