Port Arthur residents upset with the resent announcement of the expansion of the Shell / Motiva oil refinery, this facility plans to expand their operation by 100% which equates to the larges producer of refined oil in the USA they will produce 600,000 barrels of oil per day up from 300,000 per day this mean more pollution in the Port Arthur communities, more visits to the doctor by our citizen for asthma attacks and an increase in cancer cases.

This area is considered a non attainment area for new emission sources so they simply expand their operation by a 100 percent. This area is suppose to be in compliance by 2007 but they are increasing the emission out put this will not work for reducing emission level. The time has come to relocate the community.
